We believe that everyday objects should inspire joy. Our handcrafted creations blend artistic expression with functional design, bringing warmth, creativity, and personality into every home.
Ideas pop out from nature, folklore, history, patterns and shadows such as light reflecting the imprint of branches on a path, ribboning in a stone or the extraordinary fractal symmetry in a leaf. Sketched ideas are drawn onto lino, which is then coated with water based inks and pressed onto the linen to create an image.
Printing an image onto a surface is an art technique that began with the earliest art with our Stone Age ancestors pressing images of their hands and bodies onto their cave walls. It feels like a privilege to still be using this technique of pressing, imprinting and marking.
Sometimes, instead of lino, wooden block stamps are used which are made by master carvers in India where block print making is a centuries -old heritage craft. After waiting for the paint to dry for two to three days, additional layers of paint are added to add light and depth.
The linen is then adhered to a backing and rolled into a lampshade . Once everything is checked, that
all the seams are tucked in, all loose threads are snipped, the shade is ready to leave and bring light to your home.
The shades are packaged in double-walled boxes to ensure that they arrive safely.
